David Cronenberg announces next project
David Cronenberg announced at Cannes this week that he has cast Colin Farrel and Marion Cotillard in Cosmopolis. Cronenberg, who is set to begin shooting on his current project A Dangerous Method, will script the adaptation of Don DeLillo's novel himself. Meanwhile, SlashFilm have released a teaser poster for the film.

Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Monroe
Andrew Dominik is set to direct a Marilyn Monroe biopic, Dark Horizons reports. The director of Chopper and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford penned a script based on Joyce Carol Oates's imaginary Monroe memoirs "Blonde". Naomi Watts will star.

Meanwhile, ComingSoon.net reports that Michelle Williams is set to play Marilyn in Simon Curtis's My Week With Marilyn, which focuses on her time spent in England filming The Prince and the Showgirl.

I Am Love to get US release
Following its critical acclaim in the UK, Luca Guadagnino's sumptuous I Am Love will be distributed in the USA by Magnolia Pictures. The Tilda Swinton vehicle will premiere in New York in June before moving nationwide from July 2-August 14.

David Fincher approaches Disney?
Zodiac director David Fincher is rumoured to be directing Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea after McG withdrew from the project. As we reported last week, Fincher is set also to adapt Stieg Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (the Swedish version of which we reviewed earlier this week). 20,000 is set to be penned by Scott Z. Burns, who scripted Steven Soderbergh's Contagion. Speaking of which...

Soderbergh in 3D
Finally, Steven Soderbergh's virus thriller Contagion is to be released in 3D in October 2011. The film stars Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow and Marion Cotillard.
