Paddy Considine has announced that his next directorial effort will be an adaptation of a short ghost story, The Leaning, which he wrote himself. Considine, arguably best known for acting in Shane Meadows films such as Dead Man’s Shoes and A Room for Romeo Brass, as well as for supporting roles in Hot Fuzz and The Bourne Ultimatum, recently premiered his feature debut, Tyrannosaur, at Sundance.
That film won two awards at the festival: the World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award and the Special Jury Prize for Acting. It stars Peter Mullan as an angry man driven by rage whose life is changed when he a meets a religious shopkeeper (Olivia Coleman). The film is an expansion of Considine’s 2007 short film Dog Altogether.
